Profitable Tourist Attraction
The Mystery Craters is a profitable tourist attraction with a successful trading history for more than 40 years.
The Mystery Craters formation is 25 Million years old and is located on a slab of sandstone and red ochre mix approximately 15 square kilometres in size. The 35 Craters are all in the one location about in the centre of this slab.
There is also ample seating to have a cold drink or a cuppa.
The location is about mid-way between Bundaberg and Gin Gin approximately 100metres off the main highway.
The business has many and varied additions to the complex there are established lawns, a fairy garden, a fairy dell (4x4 fairy house) and a large shed full of antique machinery which houses collections of chain saws, mobile swing saws, lawn mowers (there are over 50) antique engines and other memorabilia.
We open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm except for Christmas Day and Good Friday. The business is easily handled by an owner operator.
There is an opportunity to upgrade the business by increasing the things to see and do or perhaps developing the current website with online booking capabilities, online sale of merchandising or, booking out the entire attraction for events (we have hosted weddings).
The reason for sale is the current owners wish to retire and there are family health issues.
After 18 years of developing the attraction to a must see, and with the growth of the area fresh ideas could take the attraction to another level.
All serious offers will be considered and the asking price does not include any stock including rock and fossil collection and antique machinery.
This business is totally unique and there is nothing like it known anywhere in the world and is said to be Australia's most baffling phenomenon. There is a viewing platform and automated auto commentary as well as signs in appropriate locations pointing out different features of the formation.

I have visited the Mystery Craters several times. They are one of the great Mysteries of Australia. It's worth a look and no one knows how they got there. They also have a big rock collection Janet (24 December 2015)
I looked for something to do after work one afternoon so decided to go for a drive out to the Mystery Craters. It was worth the drive. An interesting and thought provoking place. George (4 November 2014)
