Mount Molloy itself was a copper mining town and Wolframite and Scheelite for Tungsten is currently being mined at Mt Carbine just 30 klm north of the town on the road to Cooktown.
Set on just under an acre on the main street in the middle of town , there is guest off street parking at the rear of the hotel as well as a 4 bay open shed.
The Molloy Pub is the local term for the hotel and with its family friendly orientation it is a popular lunch stop for day travellers.
